Plain is exactly what I thought at first as well. For some reason though, I do like the way it looks. Two main characters is great for the first set, and I think the logo looks decent.

I didn't notice this until I coming back to the thread. The cover art shown is very likely what the Part 1 release will look like (without the artbox). So there could be something different for the artbox.

As for the artwork itself...it does its job. It just feels like it can be better though.

This design looks as though it crawled out from the early 2000's. It honestly looks like something from Geneon, back in the day. But, it's simple. Not good, but not bad either.

Not a fan of that lettering, though. Looks pretty lazy.

This is pretty tacky. I don't care about the logo, but it seemed a no-brainer to use volume 1 and 8's covers. Haimura's artwork beats out this promotional stuff any day of the week.

Eww... I don't think that I like the foreground, the background, or the title's font... Does that leave anything else? Yeah... The DVD logo looks lonely and want's a Blu-ray logo nearby!

Oh well. Ugly cover or not, I wasn't going to be buying this anyway...
