Time for The Week in Anime, UK Election Edition. Don't worry, I promise to be entirely politically neutral. In the run to the midpoint of the season, we've a lot of shows that are running in idle, as it were - the initial 3-ep window where they need to impress people is past us, but the final batch of episode where shows reach their climax and try to prove just how good they are isn't quite here yet. For some shows, this is a window where they suffer a bit form a lack of interesting plotlines going on. See if you can spot the exceptions to the rule... First up, Ghost in the Shell: Arise...

Logicoma: Hentai edition. Probably best not to go there... Moving on, one last call on The Heroic Legend of Arslan:

No-one expects the Lusitanian Inquisition, apparently. Funny how Inquisitors of pretty much any faith tend to be utter bastards. (Aside: her husband is likely dead and her kingdom is falling, and the Parsian queen is more concerned about the honour of her chambermaids? I see why this kingdom is doomed. Priorities, people, priorities...) Next, Assassination Classroom...

That's debateable.

VITALLY IMPORTANT. And don't you forget it. Never underestimate the stress-relieving qualities of being able to cook. Moving on to the alternative world of Blood Blockade Battlefront (did I get the name right this week? Because somehow nothing past BBB actually sticks in my head...)

Why hello, Knives. Nice to see you. It's been a while. Next, DanMachi, which is a lot more fun when it's not trying to be serious. Unfortunately, this week was all serious.

You're a girl in a dungeon, Lili. It's his thing. Best not to question it further. Sound! Euphonium goes straight for the jugular this week with the one non-story-thing that'll get me to watch almost anything:

...a great line in reaction faces, and let's be honest, Hibikiface is right up there with the best of them. Doesn't do any harm that the story is halfway decent as well, to be honest. But less focus on Hibiki bemoaning her chest size would be great, m'kay? The undoubted highlight of this week was Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders...

After the shambles that the UK's pre-election opinion polls turned out to be, it's clear who they need to hire next time around to get them right. He's also able to tell us what Dave Cameron and Nick Clegg were thinking as the results came through...

No prizes for guessing which one was which. As for 'what Jotaro did next'....

...hands up who broke into a stupid grin at the realisation of what they answer to that was going to be. Moving on, we have Nasuna Takamiya Desu!...

Almost certainly. Which makes me kinda disappointed that no robots were involved. Betcha Teekyu wouldn't've held back on that. Speaking of which...

Be fair now. It takes at least seven. Next, Nisekoi:...

I don't think she's thinking solely of studying here.

::unrolls printer roll of paper with many, many reasons listed::

Yeah, I get that mood when Chitoge appears too, Marika. Over in My Love Story!! it's business as usual for Takeo:

WHADDA GUY. Although I'm more interested in the unfolding story of Yamato's unhappy life. Someone give that girl a hug. Punchline continues to meander...

Insert appropriate song by The Police here. Had high hopes for this series after it's FLCL-level-wackiness first episode, but oi it seems to have limited its ambitions since then. Not exactly enthusing me now. Next, Show By Rock!!...

Yes. Yes it is~nyan.

Where the canals are filled with medicinal mold? Urawa no Usagi-chan returns to a theme:

Yeah, that's a reaction a could apply to a lot of things that have happened this week. Finally, Yamada and the Seven Witches...

::head explodes:: See you next week for more...
