It's a bit later than usual, but I'm committed to doing this post to assess how likely I'm going to buy something from last year's slate of anime shows. As usual, I list all the shows that I have finished that started in 2019 and give all shows one of four levels of potential purchases based on the show itself, as well as other mitigating factors like expected price (more of a knock on Aniplex), how I'm expecting it to be released (most are expected to just get a SE release by either Funimation or Sentai, but some might get more than that), and budget. Most of the winter and spring season shows have already been solicited, and while I will take that into consideration, I'll try and not put too much weight on it. So as usual, there are four categories denoted by symbols and colors:

($) Purchasing - I have every intention of buying the BD for this show.
(+) Strong Interest - I am very interested in getting it, but I'm not fully committed to buying. A lot will depend on how it is released and the shape my wallet is in, but if I do have the cap space, these shows will be the first ones to be considered.
(-) Passive Interest - I have some interest in getting it, but unless a release blows me away, gets better treatment than expected, or I need something to tack on to get free shipping or find a deal too good to pass up, then chances are I'll pass on it. In any case, I will wait until a price drop happens before getting it.
(X) Fuhgeddaboudit - Exactly as I mean, I have zero interest in getting it.

Winter 2020
(-) Mysteria Friends (Sentai) - Short and sweet, but not a high priority for me.
(X) How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno (Sentai) - It's silly and repetitive, and if I were to watch it again, it would be through streams only as it's not worth the purchase.
(-) My Roommate is a Cat (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - A great slice of life show, but not something I would be interested in owning.
(+) The Promised Neverland (Aniplex) - This is one of the best shows of the year, but unfortunately Aniplex prices are going to be a huge deterrent. Still, I might change my mind because it's amazing.
(+) The Quintessential Quintuplets (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - This is one of the sleeper hits of the year, so I'm open to getting it as it's coming out in a LE release, which is getting rarer for Funimation these days.
(X) Date A Live III (Funimation) - I didn't get the first two seasons and this one is worse than them, so nope.
(X) Domestic Girlfriend (Sentai) - While this show has some great drama, it's just cringeworthy to watch, and so this is not for me.
(X) Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka (Funimation) - An edgy show with some nice ideas, but the poor execution pretty much means I'm not getting it.
(X) The Morose Mononokean II (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - I didn't buy the first season, so I have no plans on getting this season, either.
(-) Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Aniplex) - The best comedy of the year, but also another pricey Aniplex release that didn't even have a dub that is going to be coming later. So at least I'll give it an outside shot, but it's not a high priority.
(+) Endro~! (Funimation) - This show is very cute and amusing, and since I enjoyed it that it's a great possibility.
(X) The Magnificent Kotobuki (Sentai) - This feels just like watching someone playing a flight simulator, so no thank you.
(-) Kemono Friends 2 (Crunchyroll/Discotek) - This season is just terrible compared to the first that was mostly the by-product of Kadokawa pissing Tatsuki off that he didn't return to direct it. But even so, Discotek will probably treat this release well and given that I'm strongly thinking about getting the first season that at least I'll give it an outside shot.
(X) Mob Psycho 100 II (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - I didn't buy the first season, so big no to this season. That said, seeing such amazing animation on BD makes it reason enough to get it.
($) The Rising of the Shield Hero (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - Already placed my preorder for this amazing isekai show. It's one of the best shows of the year, so there was no doubt I was getting it.

Spring 2020
($) Senryu Girl (Sentai) - This show has everything I love in a slice of life comedy with cute girls, innovative humor, and quirky characters. And with Sentai dubbing this show that has potential to be great, especially for script writers, that all but assures I'm getting this.
(X) AfterLost (Funimation) - Madhouse made it look nice, but that's about the only good thing about this dumpster fire of a show. The storywriting is easily one of the worst of the year.
(+) Isekai Quartet (Funimation) - Great characters, fun humor, this show is certainly on my radar.
(X) Strike Witches: 501st Joint Fighter Wing Take Off! (Funimation) - Terrible animation quality pretty much killed any chance this show had at me getting it.
(X) Wise Man's Grandchild (Funimation) - A generic isekai that at least started strong, but by the end it was not something worth getting.
(-) The Helpful Fox Senko-san (Funimation) - This is a nice and relaxing show, but they are dime a dozen this year, so it's a low priority at the moment.
(X) Bungo Stray Dogs season 3 (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - Great show, but given the release pattern there just isn't any reason for me to get this series.
(-) Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life (Funimation) - Another great slice of life that took awhile to get going. I'll probably wait for a complete collection, if anything.
(X) We Never Learn (Aniplex) - Not good enough to justify paying Aniplex prices for a likely sub-only release.
($) Attack on Titan season 3 (Funimation) - I bought the rest of the Attack on Titan releases, so I'll be getting this as well.
(-) One Punch Man 2 (Viz) - I purchased the first season when it hit the bargain bin, but with this season being such a mess with the change of studio, I don't feel committed to getting this season.
(-) Million Arthur (Funimation) - While I enjoyed this, it's one of those shows meant to advertise a game, and while it does a nice enough job with being fun and amusing, it's also pretty annoying at times. That said, I enjoyed it enough to consider getting it.
(+) Fruits Basket 1st Season (Funimation) - It's a great way to be re-introduced to this classic, but unfortunately Funimation's release is just terrible. The only way I'll purchase it is if there's a box to hold all the BDs in it (which is probably a longshot knowing how Funi operates these days) or as a complete collection with all three seasons in one case.
(+) Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (Aniplex) - This is the best show of the year and while it's an expensive purchase, it's a show I'm willing to spend $260 on. And there's also Funimation putting out a cheaper SE version, so I have some options there that make this a strong possibility.
(X) Mix (Funimation) - Fun show, but not fun enough to own.

Summer 2019
(-) How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift? (Funimation) - Fun show, and certainly worth it just for the weight training omakes at the end, but not a priority.
(+) Astra Lost in Space (Funimation) - This is one of the best dramas of the year with great character development and a sense of unity not commonly seen in anime.
(+) If It's For My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord (Crunchyroll) - Very cute show this is and I like that this show sticks to what it sets out to do, something very many shows have trouble with.
(-) Wasteful Days of High School Girls (Sentai) - This show is just insanely funny. That said, it's a lower priority at this point seeing that there are slice-of-life comedies that are more my style.
(-) O Maidens in Your Savage Season (Sentai) - This is a nicely-constructed drama, but not exactly my taste. That said, this show deserves to be considered.
(X) The Ones Within (Funimation) - Enjoyable enough, but easily forgettable.
(X) Hensuki (Funimation) - Good for those who love fanservice, but it's not my cup of tea.
(+) The Demon Girl Next Door (Sentai) - It's cute and funny, and it has a solid story to make for a show that's on my radar for purchasing.
(+) Is It Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II (Sentai) - I purchased the first season LE, but this season is a mild disappointment. That said, I feel obligated to get this out of completionism, as well as the fact that there's a third season coming.
(-) Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files: Rail Zeppelin (Aniplex) - While another solid entry to the Type Moon universe, Aniplex prices make this another low priority buy.
(X) Re:Stage Dream Days (Sentai) - Idol shows just aren't my thing when it comes to purchases, and this one is just generic.
(X) Cop Craft (Funimation) - While I might rewatch this for the artwork, not much stood out about this show.
(+) Dr. Stone (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - This show has some fun and great antics to it, and it's likely getting a LE release, so that's something that works in this show's favor.
(+) Fire Force (Funimation) - The artwork and action make this show a must-own on BD, but it kind of depends on if it gets a LE release, which I'm expecting it to happen when the second cour gets solicited. While it was disappointing towards the end along with the crappy timing it had to deal coming out when the KyoAni arson attack, it still does a lot of things right.

Fall 2019
(+) Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Second (Crunchyroll/Funimation) - While the first season set the table, the movies are where all the things that made the original show a masterpiece really take off. So at least, I'll consider it.
(-) After School Dice Club (Funimation) - This is another surprisingly good show, and while it's not a high priority, I'll at least have it under consideration.
(X) Kemono Michi: Rise Up! (Funimation) - While this isekai started off well, it faded down the stretch, so this show is KO'd.
(X) Fairy Gone (Funimation) - This show has it all on the technical side, but the story was just a huge mess. At least the second half was an improvement, but the awful first half pretty much kills its chances of getting bought.
(X) African Salaryman (Funimation) - This could have been great had this show consisted of half-length episodes and had a little big better animation since the humor is pretty good. But nevertheless I won't be getting it.
(-) Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life? (Crunchyroll) - This show is pretty amusing, so it's something to consider whenever Discotek or Viz puts it out.
(X) Oresuki (Aniplex) - Priced out by Aniplex. 'Nuff said.
(-) Stars Align (Funimation) - While this show has some incredible drama, unfortunately that half-done feeling makes me hesitant to get this. Maybe if the second season that Kazuki Akane had planned comes out I'll get it as I really enjoyed the amount of detail put into this show, but absent of that I probably will not bother.
(X) Granblue Fantasy season 2 (Aniplex) - I didn't pay Aniplex prices to get the first season, so big no for this.
(+) Cautious Hero (Funimation) - It's another Kadokawa isekai show that's well-done to the point where it got a spot on Isekai Quartet. It had a rough start, but the show greatly improves as it progresses.
($) Food Wars: The Fourth Plate (Sentai) - I purchased the previous seasons, and while this show starts to lose it in this season, I want to complete the set.
(X) Rifle is Beautiful (Sentai) - While the show could have been great, it's badly rushed even for a 4koma adaptation.
(X) Azur Lane (Funimation) - This show has some nice action, but the storytelling is just a joke, so no way.
(+) Fate/Grand Order: Absolute Demonic Battlefront Babylonia (Aniplex) - I have been playing the Fate/Grand Order mobile game, and this anime adaptation does a great job representing the game. So being the big Fate fan that I am that it's under consideration, but it will depend on the price and more importantly, how Aniplex designs the LE release.
($) Chihayafuru 3 (Sentai) - This show just keeps on getting better with age, and that was the case for season 3. I have the first two seasons, so I can expect it to get a similar LE treatment out of Sentai when the time comes and I'll be getting that.
($) My Hero Academia season 4 (Funimation) - While a disappointment compared to other seasons, I have bought everything else from this franchise, so I'm going to keep on buying.
(-) No Guns Life (Funimation) - This show started strong, but ran out of firepower towards the end of the first cour, and while I'm still awaiting the second half, I'm not looking to get this though I'm keeping my options open at this point.
(X) Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld (Aniplex) - I haven't purchased any of the SAO TV series releases, and that continues with this series as I just don't have the budget.

So to summarize, I will be getting Shield Girl, Senryu Girl, Attack on Titan, Food Wars, Chihayafuru, and My Hero Academia, while I'm strongly considering Promised Neverland, Quintuplets, Endro, Isekai Quartet, Fruits Basket, Demon Slayer, Demon Girl Next Door, Danmachi II, Dr. Stone, Fire Force, Astra Lost in Space, If It's For My Daughter, LGH, Cautious Hero, and FGO. Quite a lot of stuff I'm interested in getting there as it was a great year for anime shows, a far cry from what 2020 is turnout out to be, though for understandable reasons.
