Here is the eligibility criteria for the categories:
Opening Theme Songs: Simlucasts only (all entries with an asterisk), and only songs that are played as the opening for at least three episodes of the show that aired in 2018 are eligible.
Ending Theme Songs: Simlucasts only (all entries with an asterisk), and only songs that are played as the ending for at least three episodes of the show that aired in 2018 are eligible.

And like last year, I have a spot for an honorable mention given to shows that I had dropped or put on hold. I might have finished some of them since then, but the rules stipulate that I must finish it sometime in 2018 (or for shows continuing into 2019, all episodes watched in 2018).

Honorable Mention: Keep the Heat and Fire Yourself Up,Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hakyu Hoshin Engi

As usual, there were a bazillion great opening theme songs, and none stuck out more than the Kokokku opening that was just so "crazy now" and totally got me hyped up about this show. Man With a Mission is known for its great music, and the first Golden Kamuy opening is perhaps their finest work. Then there's the Kiss of Death that was so great that it was used all the way through. Banana Fish opening was very upbeat to fits its serious nature. While it's feels strange not having Linked Horizon open up Attack on Titan, Yoshiki's song definitely is one of the best songs of the year. The second Saiki K. opening of season 2 has a very memorable catchphrase in it to "put your hands up" and everything. And the rest are also songs that stood out. While Hakyu Hoshin Engi was a dumpster fire, the opening theme song was one of the things that was great about this show, so it's the honorable mention here.

Top 10 Ending Theme Songs
1. The Perfect World, Marty Friedman with Man With a Mission, B: The Beginning
2. Buntline Special, Vickeblanka, Double Decker! Doug and Kirill
3. Hydra, Myth and Roid, Overlord II
4. Akatsuki no Requiem, Linked Horizon, Attack on Titan season 3
5. Half, Queen Bee, Tokyo Ghoul:re
6. Inkya Impulse, Pastimers Club, Asobi Asobase
7. Fly Me to the Star, Revue Starlight
8. Star Overhead, The Pillows, FLCL Alternative
9. Rewind, Minori Suzuki, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Clard
10. Marionette, Lozareena, Karakuri Circus
Honorable Mention: Hiizuru Basho, Omedetai Atama de Naniyori, Hinomaru Sumo

While there was much debate over what the best opening song was, there was no question what the best ending was in my perspective as the ending to B: The Beginning is simply amazing to listen to. It's a a combination of American and Japanese rock, and the results are amazing. The Double Decker ending so captured the essence of the show, while Myth and Roid delivers again with the second Overlord ending. Linked Horizon did the ending this time around, and it's much more subdued than the opening, but definitely brought out the show's soul into it. Queen Bee's song is a treat to listen to as the music for Tokyo Ghoul is generally great (except for the Root A opening that was just all wrong). Then there's Asobi Asobase's ending that was an epic contrast to the opening. And of course, the rest of the songs are there for being a great fit for the shows they represent. As for the honorable mention, the Hinomaru Sumo ending really stood out with the fired-up feeling.

Top 10 Soundtracks
1. Megalo Box
2. Violet Evergarden
3. Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens
4. Sword Art Online: Alicization
5. Revue Starlight
6. Attack on Titan season 3
7. My Hero Academia seaosn 3
8. Banana Fish
9. Bloom Into You
10. Overlord
Honorable Mention: Tsurune

Pretty obvious which show had the best soundtrack as Megalo Box totally nailed it with the hip-hop usage to set the tone perfectly for this show. Violet Evergarden is one of this year's best shows, and its soundtrack is a huge reason why as Evan Call did a masterful job in having a great piece of BGM for every situation. The jazziness in Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens really stands out. Yuki Kajiura's soundtracks are simply a delight, and it is the case once again in SAO Alicization. Revue Starlight has lots of great music to go along with the stunning visuals. And as for the rest, the soundtracks really enhance the show time and again. As for the honorable mention, Tsurune gets it as it perfectly captures the essence of kyudo with a subdued feel going to show that there's a lot of beauty behind everything going on in that show.
